Maximizing Collection Efficiencies with Seamless Tube® Technology. PROBLEM: This Mini-Mill was installing a new positive-pressure, reverse-gas cleaned baghouse on their EAF shop, to handle 1,115,000 ACFM of flow with KO61 dust entrained. Their new Permit stated 0.0032 gr./DSCF particulate capture efficiency. SOLUTION Midwesco introduced our Seamless Tube® RT02 to solve this problem. Seamless Tube® RT02 uses a 100% Polyester knit structure to maximize collection efficiencies, enhance air flows, reduce media drag and enhance dust cake release. RESULTS Midwesco supplied 4200 Seamless Tube® RT02 bags, tensioning hardware, Leak Seeker® and PreKote®. Midwesco personnel installed all filter bags, conducted pre-start up operations and assisted in establishing the cleaning cycles. FOLLOW-UP DATA 1. This baghouse tested at 0.0008 gr/DSCF initially. 2. Five (5) years after start up, the baghouse re-tested at 0.0013 gr/DSCF. 3. Six (6) years after commissioning, the baghouse operates at 4”-5.5” DP with no Visible Emissions (VE’s). 4. Although a full set of spares are on-hand, there are no plans to re-fit the baghouse with new bags, since the DP’s and VE’s are controlled. |
