Meeting MACT Requirements through Advanced Bag Leak Detection
April 1, 2010
PCME ltd as a leading specialist in the design, manufacture & supply of approved PS1, PS11, PM Systems & Bag Leak Detectors (BLD’s) has pleasure in appointing Midwesco Filter Resources Inc as its Distributor in the USA for their extensive range of MACT compliant BLD’s & Broken Bag Detectors.
PCME’s experience in the North American market as a supplier of dust monitoring instruments to some of the world’s leading manufacturing companies has lead to the development & installation of a range of robust, fully compliant instruments for a wide range of applications including those in the Steel, Foundry, Cement, Food, Tobacco, and Power Industries.
Fully satisfying the EPA guidance procedure for fabric filter bag leak detection, PCME supplies a number of MACT compliant solutions from the entry level LEAK ALERT 73 for single monitoring points, to the world leading PCME STACK 990 networked system which will monitor & log emissions from up to 16 baghouses simultaneously. Both instruments feature PCME’s patented & class leading ElectroDynamicTM Sensing Technology.
For total reassurance of reliability & repeatability, the 990 sensor incorporates a patented contamination check to compliment automatic zero and span checks which verify that amplification & conditioning of the measured signal is performed within pre-defined tolerances. For the ultimate proof that the sensor measurement is un-compromised, the contamination circuit monitors for signal leakage across the insulator.
To meet the demands of a broad range of applications, PCME’s ElectroDynamicTM technology allows the use of either a stainless steel or our patented fully insulated sensor option which is utilized for monitoring humid conditions such as those found after spray dryers or in corrosive applications.
In addition, the PCME STACK 990 has the capability to be fully accessed via an Ethernet network. Both live & historic operational data can be viewed from remote locations providing ease of access to logged compliance self check data (zero & span check results), walking window (rolling average) results, bag pulse data & sensor contamination warning results. Especially interesting to bag filter users is the ability to use the monitor to better understand the performance of the bag filter, including the identification of bag row deterioration prior to catastrophic failure, allowing preventative maintenance of the filter.
Networking of particulate emission monitors on multiple filters serves a dual purpose. Not only does it allow central monitoring of filter performance to satisfy environmental regulations, it also provides the means to optimize filter operation, reducing maintenance times, and operating costs.
PCME’s partnership with Midwesco Filter Recourses, Inc. who provides full application & installation advice from their Headquarters in Winchester, VA; along with full service support provided by PCME’s own North American Service Centre based in Fuquay-Varina, NC, has accelerated penetration and success within key industries throughout the USA.
