Large Project Update - JEA. In spring of 2000, Wheelabrator Air Pollution Control (WAPC) contracted with MIDWESCO Filter to supply and install over 17,000 PPS felt filter bags for their project with JEA (formerly Jacksonville Electric Authority). The Northside facility operates two 275 MW boilers which fire a combination of petroleum coke and a variety coals. Each baghouse utilizes to a medium pressure, high volume pulse cleaning system. Each baghouse is preceded with a spray dryer absorber using pebble lime. The successful execution and startup of these baghouses, and its PPS filter bags from Midwesco Filter, helped to secure Power Magazine’s 2002 “Powerplant Award” for JEA. |
